Volunteer Agreement

Thank you for signing up to join our team! We want to ensure that everyone feels safe and respected and has a great time representing our campaign. We don’t condone bullying or negative behaviour online or in person. We are here to share a message of positive change for our community. This agreement will help us get that message out to our community whilst looking after you.

This Volunteer Agreement outlines our mutual commitments and the standards of behaviour and expectations for the Larissa for Willoughby campaign volunteers. This Agreement does not create an employment or contractor relationship between you and the Larissa for Willoughby Campaign, and it may be cancelled at any time by either of us. 

As a volunteer for the Larissa for Willoughby campaign I agree to the following:

All duties are on a voluntary basis and I understand I will not receive remuneration or payment for this work. The Larissa for Willoughby campaign values it’s volunteers and will endeavour to provide you with:

  • an orientation and any training necessary for the volunteer role
  • ongoing support/ someone to contact
  • a choice of opting into volunteer activities that you assess to be safe and within your capabilities
  • respect for your privacy, including keeping your private information confidential

In return, you agree to:

  • act positively and in the best interests of Larissa Penn and the Larissa for Willoughby Campaign
  • demonstrate honest and decent behaviour
  • be welcoming and respectful to all

In your volunteer role we require you to:

  • agree to any induction information or instructions provided by the campaign team
  • only undertake duties you are authorised to perform, and follow reasonable directions and instructions that you are given
  • notify an officer of the Larissa for Willoughby campaign team of any health and safety issues or potentially hazardous situations that may pose a risk to you or others, and report any accidents or incidents relating to staff, volunteers or the location
  • use any property or equipment given to you safely and only for the purpose of volunteering and return it to the campaign team when you finish
  • behave appropriately and courteously to all staff and the public in the course of your role
  • keep all information confidential if in the course of your duties you work with people's personal information in a database
  • Not conduct volunteer activities under the effect of drugs or alcohol
  • Only perform tasks which have been instructed by a representative of the Larissa for Willoughby Campaign
  • Not wear the Larissa for Willoughby issued clothing when engaged in illegal activity or events held by prohibited donors
  • Not wear clothing clearly containing non-campaign slogans or insignia when volunteering for the Larissa for Willoughby Campaign
  • comply with the law at all times.

The health and safety of you and others

At Larissa for Willoughby, volunteer safety, and the safety of everyone who is involved in our campaign, is a priority. We will take all reasonable care to minimise risk to the best of our knowledge acknowledging that many volunteer tasks are self managed i.e. letterbox dropping.

As a volunteer, you agree:

  • to take reasonable care for your own health and safety
  • to take reasonable care for the health and safety of others
  • to comply with any reasonable instruction issued by the Larissa for Willoughby Campaign Team
  • To follow the WHS instructions of any designated authority at a location ie) council, electoral commission etc
  • to let the campaign team know of any concerns you may have about safety and/or fitness in undertaking our role, and
  • to co-operate with any reasonable policies and procedures of the Larissa for Willoughby Campaign re:COVID-19 and workplace safety

When carrying out your volunteer activities, you agree to comply with COVID-19 public health orders, Government public health guidelines, all laws and reasonable directions from the Larissa for Willoughby campaign staff, campaign supervisors or volunteer supervisors concerning workplace and COVID-19 safety. These directions may change quickly and we all need to be ready to adapt.

We have a wide range of people volunteering and there are many vulnerable people in our community. You agree to let our team know if you are not fully vaccinated so that we can place you in a suitable role that minimises risk to vulnerable community members and volunteers as much as possible.

You should not attend any activity if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or if you have tested positive to COVID-19 and have not been cleared by the relevant authority, or are otherwise required to isolate.

We are supportive of you wearing your own mask if you deem it is needed.  If at any time you are uncomfortable with carrying out any volunteer activity that is assigned to you, including due to any risk associated with COVID-19, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. 

Volunteer Waiver

As a volunteer for the Larissa for Willoughby campaign I agree that:

  • I participate as a volunteer for the Larissa for Willoughby Campaign at my own risk. I will take all reasonable measures to protect myself from the risks of participation. I accept all responsibility for travel and medical insurance and for payment and/or reimbursement of medical/surgical expenses incurred on my behalf. 
  • I am responsible for all property I bring to volunteer events and locations and Larissa for Willoughby accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to this property.
  • I release the Larissa for Willoughby Campaign (and / or its candidate, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors) from any claim and from any liability (to the extent permitted by law) for or as a result of any loss, injury or damage suffered by me in relation to my attendance and participation during volunteer activities, how so ever caused, including any claim or liability which arises due to any negligence of Larissa for Willoughby campaign (and / or it’s candidate, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors). 
  • To the best of my knowledge, I am not suffering from a condition which would prevent and/or render me unfit to participate in the volunteer activities associated with the Larissa for Willoughby campaign.

Intellectual Property and Confidential Information

All volunteers for the Larissa for Willoughby Campaign agree to transfer all intellectual property rights and interests (including copyright) in any ideas or materials they create relating to their provision of voluntary services for the Larissa for Willoughby Campaign.

Also volunteers consent to the use by the Larissa for Willoughby Campaign of such creations in a manner reasonably contemplated by the voluntary services provided under this document. As a volunteer you also agree not to bring any claim for infringement of your moral rights in respect of that use.

You may be given access to the Larissa for Willoughby Campaign Confidential Information in the course of your volunteering. Confidential Information includes the personal information of other volunteers, information about the campaign strategy and any other information identified as confidential or which is by its nature confidential. You agree not to use or disclose any Confidential Information for any purpose other than the proper discharge of your duties as a volunteer of the Larissa for Willoughby Campaign.

Photo Consent

I consent to the publication and / or use in any form of media whatsoever taken whilst participating in Larissa for Willoughby campaign including the use of my image, voice, statement or otherwise, without payment or compensation.
