The Stop the Tunnels group made the same call to suspend the consultation.
“A suspension will allow families the good grace to focus on priorities such as their children’s health and education at this time,” spokeswoman Larissa Penn said.
The tunnel will link up with the planned Beaches Link.
“The COVID-19 virus has caused great stress to families everywhere, but lower north shore families are still expected to invest time objecting to an unwanted tunnel.
“We want the projects to be re-exhibited at a time when family, employment and school life has returned to some sort of normality and the community can engage.”
