“Authorities are investigating how scores of dead fish and eels came to be washed up in foam on the banks of a Sydney creek, close to the site of a major industrial fire.
The dead creatures have been found at Flat Rock Creek, a nature reserve in Northbridge, in the city's north.
At about 2pm on Tuesday, locals noticed plumes of foam being washed downstream, before they discovered the mass fish kill.
"It's like a graveyard," neighbour Larissa Penn said.
"It's really devastating to see the eels and the fish that are dead, and the foam on the surface."
